Kota Ibushi Wrestles… a Blow-Up Doll

DDT Pro-Wrestling is a Japanese promotion that presents a really unique entertainment product. They have a habit of hiring great wrestlers, and the matches are often jump-out-of-your-seat exciting.

But they also have a lot of comedy. And in 2015, they put on one of their funniest matches of all time.

It features a young Kota Ibushi — one of the most talented wrestlers in the world — versus a blow-up doll named Yoshihiko.

Now, and you’ll want to sit down for this, this was not Yoshihiko’s first match for the company, nor his last. And he even has a brother, fellow blow-up doll Akhiro.

In the match, Ibushi has a competitive back-and-forth with the inanimate object. Occasionally, a ring assistant will have to animate the doll, which Ibushi never acknowledges. And the most heart warming part? The fans go along with the joke.

You could say this is stupid, childish, and — quite frankly — dumb. But you could also say this is art at its highest level. Watch the clip and decide for yourself.
