Tip #5 Do not be afraid to talk with your professors.
Every university professor must give office hours to their students. This is the perfect opportunity to go and meet with them individually. Do not show up just to make conversation but prepare a question or two to ask them.
Not only will they be happy to answer, but they’ll get to know you by name. There are many benefits to knowing your professor personally. If you were to run into some problems during the semester, your professor might be more inclined to accommodate you if they know you. Professors like to say they make no exceptions, but that is rarely true.
Professors are humans, just like us. If you share your concerns or problems with them, they will empathize and try to help. Especially if you make the effort to show up to their class and office hours.
