Salma Hayek is one of the few Latina actresses who have earned a place among Hollywood’s leading ladies. The 1.57m Mexican often humorously refers to her attempts to overcome her short height throughout her career.
“Look how short I am. I can’t even act to be tall. I’m 1.57 m. I can’t even create the illusion that I’m tall!” the 55-year-old actress, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2003 for her performance in the Frida Kahlo biopic, once said.
