9 Mistakes You Have To Stop Making When Shopping

Buying Too Many Perishables

It’s very tempting when entering a grocery store to splurge on beautiful and shiny fruit and vegetables. Bananas, apples, kiwis, strawberries, broccoli, tomatoes, kale, carrots, and cauliflower all look delicious. They are suitable for you, so why not? Unless you have an army to feed at home, it might be hard to go through all of these goodies before they start to rot.

The same applies to dairy products and raw meat. So while you might feel that buying a 1kg yogurt pot will save you money as you’ll get more bang for your buck, it could be the opposite. The shelf-life of perishables is short, and your products will start losing their nutritional and gustative quality after a few days, not to mention potentially going rotten before you finish them.

So, when it comes to perishables, always favor quality over quantity and plan regular weekly shopping trips instead of buying in bulk and wasting food and money in the process.
