The Indian Premier League scandal took place in 2013. The case resulted in the arrest of three cricketers, Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan, and Ajit Chandila on charges of spot-fixing, also known as illegal sports betting. The three cricketers were part of the Rajasthan Royals in the 2013 IPL, but their contracts were suspended when the athletes were arrested in Mumbai.

Chavan confessed to spot-fixing, and Chandila attempted to get others involved in spot-fixing under the instructions of his bookies. Still, the three players were found not guilty by the Patiala House Courts, though only one of them was handed a lifetime ban from the sport.
