Created by Mike Schiff and Bill Martin, “The Unicorn” was picked up by CBS in 2019, and after a successful pilot, that had more than 8 million viewers, Schiff and Martin were given a back order of 5 additional episodes to go along with what had already been agreed upon.

CBS was so impressed with the numbers they saw from season 1 of “The Unicorn”, that the network chose to reward the cast and crew with the gift of a second season, which would, ultimately, be its final season, as following two above-average seasons of ratings it was canceled by CBS.
