The musical dramedy, “Katy Keene”, isn’t just a spin-off of “Riverdale”, but, with the former having taken place half of a decade after the events of the latter, it’s sort of a sequel to it as well. The reception of the series was iffy at best, and “Katy Keene” was not renewed for a second season.

After its first and only season concluded, “Katy Keene” became the first CW show to be released, exclusively, to HBO Max. Every CW series up to that point had been offered to Netflix, after airing each season’s finale. The move with “Katy Keene” set a new precedent, as CW won’t even be releasing the series on its own platforms.
