Due to the response that it got, when it was a fun recurring segment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” a few years ago, “The Masked Dancer” idea was further developed by Fox and quickly evolved into a reality competition on network television that had a panel of semi-washed up celebrity judges, and made premiered the day after boxing day, in 2020.

The “Pontiac Bandit”, Craig Robinson, and his subtly witty sense of humor, can only carry a show so far, and, although “The Masked Dancer” received decent ratings and had around 10 million people tune in to watch each episode, it appears as though the last waltz has been danced for this program.
