The first season of “The Bold Type”, the comedy-drama created by Sarah Watson, hit the air in the summer of 2017, and was received rather warmly by the executives working for the Walt Disney subsidiary network, Freeform, who, following the conclusion of the first season signed the show on for, at least, two more future seasons.

Even with sub-par ratings and viewership stats, the Universal Television-produced series persevered, and the final season of “The Bold Type”, recently, concluded in the summer of 2021, wrapping up a consistent run of five years on the air.
