Fans had high hopes for Cursed, as the show had the makings of being a popular fantasy drama. After all, it was based on the successful graphic novel by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller. Alas, Cursed was one of a few shows that Netflix axed during 2021, announcing that there would be no second season.

The cancellation announcement was under the radar, compared to how Netflix has previously announced other cancellations. Because the network didn’t make it a big production, that could mean that viewership just wasn’t up to snuff. It wouldn’t be the first time that Netflix canceled a show for low ratings, even if the show was one they produced.
