Sci-fi fans had high hopes for Debris, a show about what happens when random wreckage starts plummeting to earth. The sci-fi drama aired on NBC, and it had its first season in the spring of 2021. NBC announced that it wouldn’t be renewing Debris for a second season.

Debris got off to a poor start in the ratings, and it never got a solid footing beneath it. The series averaged a 0.7 in the 18-49 age range, and it got under five million viewers an episode. NBC renewed a lot of its scripted shows, but Debris’ ratings just weren’t good enough to put it over the line.
