The Goldbergs has been through a lot lately. The ABC TV show is a sitcom that is already poised to be a long-running classic, if actors behind the scenes can get their acts together. Jeff Garlin, who plays the patriarch of the Goldberg family, was fired after allegations of on-set misconduct.

So, what happens now for The Goldbergs? They’re one father figure short, so ABC will have to find a way to write off Jeff Garlin’s character. The fate of the show is unannounced for now. The actor blamed his departure on his “silliness on set,” which he said keeps [his] energy up.”
