For a period of time in the 1980s, the prime time soap opera, Dynasty, was the talk of the town, so it only makes sense that, sooner or later, someone was going to reboot it. It took a few decades, but, in 2016, due to the fine writing and perseverance of Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Sallie Patrick, Dynasty made its return.

The trio must have known what they were doing because, four seasons later, the show was still doing well enough for The CW to renew it for a fifth season, which is currently on the air. It’s unknown if the show will return for a sixth season next year, but it’s now safe to say that the new Dynasty has left its mark alongside its predecessor.
