Ricky Gervais has long been considered to be one of the brighter minds of modern-day British comedy, and comedy in general. Oddly enough, one of his secrets for longevity might be that he doesn’t let his shows last long enough for viewers to grow weary of them. His most recent hit on Netflix, After Life, is a great example.

In January of 2022, After Life is set to air its third and final season, but the show is ending on Gervais’ terms. In the spring of 2020, the comedian and Netflix agreed on a new deal that would allow Ricky to not only conclude his dark comedy-drama the way he wanted to but will see him making a few more of his own, most likely short, projects as well.
