In 2018, Mike Alver and Gabe Snyder were given the go-ahead, by Disney, to begin production on a television series adaptation of Elise Allen and Daryle Conners’ novel, Gabby Duran & the Unsittables. A year later, the series hit the air, but before it did, Disney had already decided to let Gabby Duran keep her babysitting job for, at least, one more year.

The extra year is all there would end up being for Gabby. After 2 seasons on the air, which included a gap year in-between, and ratings that saw a decline of more than 25%, the Gabby and the Unsittables was canceled.
