On a hot summer’s day, there were few things that children, in the ‘80s, enjoyed doing more than hurling themselves down a plastic sheet that had been spread across their yard and soaked in water. Well, a few years ago, NBC thought it would be a good idea to create a game show that drew on that nostalgia and was a variation of the classic “Slip ’N Slide”.

When a crew member contracted Giardia 7 weeks into the 8-week production of Ultimate Slip ’N Slide, the show was scrapped. Choosing not to create an edit of the unfinished show just for the purpose of putting something on the air, the entire project was scrapped, and no grand prize was given out. Contestants did, however, get up to 7 weeks of acting like children on an adult scale.
