This one was likely more of an homage than it was about saving money. The plum, square-neckline dress that Keira Knightley wore in Pride and Prejudice was the same one worn by one of the daughters in Sense and Sensibility. Both movies were based on books by Jane Austen, but how did they stack up against one another at the box office?

Pride and Prejudice made $121.6 million at the box office when it was released in 2005, and it racked up a ton of awards, from BAFTAs to Satellites. Sense and Sensibility did just as well, grossing $135 million at the box office when it hit the big screen in 1995. Sensibility, which starred Kate Winslet, won an Oscar for Best Writing.
