Fire Station No. 23 was originally built in the early 1900s as a working fire station. It was the headquarters of the LAFD for ten years, and it was nicknamed the “Taj Mahal” of fire stations because of its ornate and expensive interior. After fifty years in business, the station shut down, but it was given a new purpose: making movies.
