Picture the scene. You’re running late to work. You go to get in your car when you notice that there is a crack in your windshield. You don’t have time to take your car in, and you certainly don’t want the crack to widen or rupture the windshield. Luckily, this cheap hack will act as a stopgap to protect your windshield until you can get it professionally serviced.

Take clear nail polish. Apply a coat along the length of the crack on the inside of the windshield glass. Try to park your car in the sun, as that will help the nail polish dry and create an adhesive that will stabilize the cracked area and prevent further damage. Of course, this is a temporary hack, not a replacement for a new windshield.
