In 2013, Mads Mikkelsen took on a slightly different incarnation of Hannibal in a TV show of the same name. Although there were only 3 seasons, it was hugely popular and loved by both critics and viewers alike. However, viewing figures didn’t reflect this, leading NBC to cease production.
