There’s no denying that Scream is a smash hit horror franchise. Since the original movie was released in 1996, there have been 4 sequels. All in all, Wes Craven’s concept has made over half a billion dollars, not including the scheduled release of Scream 5 in 2022.

In 2015, slasher movie fans were pleased to discover it was being made into a TV series for MTV. The anthology series continued for three seasons before it came to an end. While it wasn’t as lucrative as the movies, it certainly didn’t hurt.
