The feel-good plot proved popular enough to be made into a TV show. Although the original cast didn’t commit to the project, Dolly Parton’s sister Rachel Dennison took over Dolly’s part. The series ran on Disney’s ABC for four years in total (although this was split.) 85 episodes were aired, making this more than a flash in the pan for the network.
