In the decade since Tim Cook took over for Steve Jobs, as Apple’s CEO, the company has more than doubled its revenue and, as a thank you for all his hard work, Cook was rewarded with a $750 million bonus, in the form of 5 million shares in the company, which in turn doubled his net worth to $1.5 billion.

Even with the fortune he had before this bonus, Cook chose to live in a modest 2,400-square-foot home in Palo Alto, California, that cost less than $2 million. Times have changed, however, and the Cooks recently migrated to a, slightly, larger $9.1 million, 10,000-square-foot modernist estate that has a garage that’s almost as big as their old home.
