Rachel Weisz’ stylist, Kate Young, styled the actress for the 2019 Oscars. She chose a vintage look that included a headband made from two identical, vintage Cartier brooches. The platinum and diamond brooches were made in 1903, and, over a century later, they sparkled as they were sewn into the Oscar nominee’s hair.

Before the ceremony, Cartier presented Young with several of the company’s museum pieces from which to pick for Weisz’ look. Young fell in love with the brooch headband, saying she loved how they gave Weisz “modernity and romance.” You have to admire the creativity of repurposing two brooches as a headpiece.
