Frank Ocean promoted his own brand when he wore a Homer Jewelry necklace to the 2021 Met Gala. The singer’s new jewelry store, located in the heart of New York City, sells colored tongue rings, scarves, and high-end jewelry like the necklace Ocean donned to the Met.

Ocean explained that Homer’s name was an homage to the Greek poet, who he described as “the father of history.” Homer is “meant to endure,” much like “diamonds and gold.” With his new jewelry store, an independent luxury company, Ocean said that he felt he was “carving history into stone.” In the Met’s case, the stone was a $2 million diamond.
