The Indonesia Stock Exchange, formerly known as the Jakarta SX, was founded in 2007. It had 750 listed companies as of the fall of 2021, and stock investors have totaled 6.4 million, a huge jump of nearly four million since 2019. The Indonesia Stock Exchange was the site of a second-floor collapse on January 15, 2018.

A mezzanine walkway that had been hanging from the second floor collapsed, and there were seventy-seven injuries. Unfortunately, the bulk of those injuries were sustained by students who were taking a class trip to the ISX building. The exact cause of the mezzanine’s collapse has yet to be publicly released.
