Even Russian fans of fruit juice got more than they bargained for with this incident. In 2017, a PepsiCo warehouse in Lebedyan, Russia collapsed unexpectedly. Lebedyan is the center of PepsiCo’s Russian operations, and it hosted a variety of vegetable and fruit juices in the warehouse. When the roof collapsed, it sent 7.4 million gallons onto the streets of Lebedyan and into the Don River.

There were two injuries from the spill, but, thankfully, there were no deaths. After tests on the Don River, no environmental damage was found. Mainly, the incident’s biggest challenge was that it was a huge, sticky, sugary mess. PepsiCo apologized and paid to fix damages, though they have yet to release the cause of the seemingly-random roof collapse.
