The Ikeja City Mall, located in Lagos, Nigeria, was the first of its kind. The shopping center contains a Silverbird movie theater, as well as clothing stores, ATMs, eateries, and ShopRite. The Ikeja City Mall, also known as ICM, is a super-popular location in Lagos.

It collapsed in 2010, seven months after construction began. The mall was supposed to open in November of 2011, but it opened a month after because of the setback. On December 9, 2010, a Thursday, a section of the mall collapsed, seriously injuring five people. Luckily, the mall’s collapse did not cause any casualties.
