Platform beds have come back in style.
These beds have wooden or metal slates that are built into the frame itself. They make a box spring unnecessary, and they can save you money, as box springs aren’t cheap. Though we’re not saying you shouldn’t get a platform bed, don’t get one if your main goal is to add value to your home.

Why? Because people don’t want your bed. Unlike water features, flooring, and shutter choices, people aren’t going to keep your bed frame. Purchasing a platform bed is like buying a new mattress—it’s great for you, but other people won’t care about it when it comes time to look at your home.
