The Most Dangerous (And Expensive) Airports Ever Built

30. El Caraño Airport – Colombia

Year of construction: 1957
Risk factors: Slippery slopes

The main danger of El Caraño is its tracks. Due to the weather conditions in the area, the take-off and landing zones are often wet. This not only makes them slightly slipperier, but the wet track can also generate annoying noises during landing.

However, since 2009, many works have been planned and developed to improve this airport. Currently, El Caraño has more than fifty commercial stores and food areas, and future plans include building a hotel and public library at the airport.
