This airport is another one whose runway is located at the top of a hill, with dangerous falls nearby. This in itself represents a risk, but, in addition, the track is not level, and its height varies from 272 to 295 feet high.
Mangalore Airport has always been considered dangerous, and pilots know it is a challenge to land there. In 2010, there was an accident during the landing that claimed the lives of several people, causing the outrage of many who believe that this runway should be discontinued.
