Situated on a hill and surrounded by steep slopes, Yeager Airport has a reputation for being quite dangerous. A wrong calculation in takeoff or landing could cause the aircraft to fall down one of the slopes.

In 2015, there was a landslide on the hill where Yeager is located. This incident was nothing short of a huge scare, but, thankfully, it did not affect the track. Since 1968, there have been at least six accidents at this airport, several of them caused by the impractical location of its runway.
