This airport is the busiest in Canada, and it is also one of the busiest in the world. Its main problem has nothing to do with the facilities, but with something impossible to control: the extreme weather conditions that often wreak havoc on the airport.
On more than one occasion, planes at Toronto Pearson have gotten out of control because of poor visibility, which is caused by wind and snow. Some aircraft have even suffered irreparable damage from the weather, which led to their discontinuation.
