70. Morgantown Municipal Airport – West Virginia, USA

Currently, the city of Morgantown, West Virginia is working on a project that will get it off this list of “dangerous airports.” The government ordered a runway extension project for the airport, and Morgantown Municipal is currently at the blasting phase of the project.

The airport is planning to extend its runway by 1,001 feet, bringing the length of the runway to that of twenty-one football fields. According to WDTV, the project is currently “showing progress.” Short runways present a lot of dangers, as pilots have less room to land and come to a full stop, so this runway-extension project is very necessary. The Morgantown government expects the initiative to take five years.
