The Suvarnabhumi Airport, located in Bangkok, Thailand, was slammed by the International Air Transport Association for having “substandard taxiways” and “inadequate capacity.” The criticism came after earlier safety warnings from another airline organization about Thailand’s faulty regulation of airlines.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of the newer airports on this list, having been constructed in 2006. It is the international gateway to Thailand, but IATA says that needs to be expanded, as it is currently operating way beyond its capacity. IATA director Tony Tyler said that key issues of “costs, capacity, [and] safety” need to be addressed; otherwise, aviation in Thailand will be “in jeopardy.”
