The Most Dangerous (And Expensive) Airports Ever Built

94. Newark Liberty International Airport – New Jersey, USA

Year of construction: 1928
Risk factors: Ranked the worst airport in America

Newark Airport received the ranking of the worst airport in America in 2019. As NorthJersey.com put it, no one was really “surprised” by this ranking, as Newark Airport (and the surrounding town) have had a lot of issues. Chief among passengers’ complaints about the airport was the quality.

The ranking, which was done by a consumer rights’ publication, noted that Newark has poor on-time performance when it comes to its flights, as well as poor service quality. The food and shops in the airport were also considered subpar. Statistics and passenger reviews were used to compile the rating, which was no doubt disappointing for airport officials.
