In Jerry Maguire, Tidwell started out as a typical cocky player who was only interested in getting paid. He felt insulted by the cheesy commercial gigs that Maguire was booked for him, and he was not willing to “dance” just to collect a check. It was not until he became injured on a national stage during Monday Night Football that he realized he had a love for the fans. Once the back office saw how much the fans loved him, they finally decided to open up the purse strings and show him the money.
