Brett Favre was the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Over his 20-year career with the Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Jets, he became one of the most prolific passers in NFL history, leading all players in total career passing yards and touchdown passes at the time of his retirement.

Favre was born on October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi. After playing high school football at Hancock North Central High School in Kiln, Mississippi, where he received All-American honors as an offensive lineman, Favre attended Southern Miss University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He left Southern Miss before his senior year to enter the NFL Draft.
